‘I Have Raped 30 Women In Lagos – Notorious Criminal ‘Pumpy’

‘I Have Raped 30 Women In Lagos – Notorious Criminal ‘Pumpy’

A 37-year-old armed robber the police described as notorious, Lanre Olowojobi, alias Pumpy, arrested at Mushin, Lagos, at the weekend by operatives of the Lagos State Taskforce, has narrated how he and his gang members robbed and raped their female victims.
Olowojobi, whose gang members the police said have been raining terror on Mushin, also admitted in his statement that he killed many of his victims for refusing to let go of their valuables.
The suspect was arrested at the weekend during a raid of some identified criminal hideouts in the Akala, Idi-Iro, and Fadeyi areas of the metropolis. The raid followed frequent complaints by members of the public about the activities of Pumpy and his gang members.
In his confessional statement to the police, Pumpy disclosed that he had raped not less than 30 women in the past three years, with most of his victims those that his gang members had waylaid to be robbed. He explained that his accomplices would drag their unfortunate victims into the bush or abandoned structures where they took turns raping them.
The robbery kingpin, who hails from Ipoti in Ekiti State, also said he had shot dead more than 10 persons in frequent fracas in the Akala area of Mushin widely feared in Lagos as a gathering of undesirable elements and dark spot for criminal activities.
Pumpy narrated, “I joined the boys in the street in 2008 but I founded my own gang in 2010. Initially we were four members in the gang but we later increased to 10. Aside being contracted by land grabbers and members of the different transport unions during their frequent leadership tussles, we also recruit young boys and girls to sell drugs on the street.
“I have over 20 young boys and girls who sell Indian hemp, Codeine, Tramadol and other drugs to users in the area. These young boys and girls do this in return for food, shelter and protection. A good number of them ran away from their homes while some of them are destitute.
“Since 2010 when I founded my own gang, I have killed so many persons. Some of those killed either died during shootouts or were macheted. There was a time I butchered one guy like a goat simply because he assaulted my girlfriend. Before then, I had warned him to stay away from my girl but he refused. I even sent some of his friends to him and he still paid deaf ears. One day, I sent some of my boys to corner him at night and macheted him severally during the fight that later ensued.”
The Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, Superintendent of Police, Olayinka Egbeyemi, who confirmed the arrest said that, though investigation was still ongoing, those arrested would soon be charged to court.

Herdsmen attack Niger mosque, kill 21 worshipers

Herdsmen attack Niger mosque, kill 21 worshipers

Suspected Fulani herdsmen have invaded a mosque in Etogi community, Gbara Ward, Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State, and killed 21 people.
According to Vanguard, there had been a disagreement between some young men of Northern extraction and members of the community, during which a herdsman was killed.
The herdsman had earlier asked for a piece of land in the community, for the purpose of farming, with an agreement to pay certain percentage annually to the Village Head but the agreement eventually collapsed.
It was reported that when the herdsmen were asked to honour the agreement, they refused, claiming real ownership of the land, which led to a fight that resulted in the death of the herdsman.

It was gathered that the other herdsmen mobilised and attacked the community mosque, when Muslim faithful were observing their early morning prayers.
The Niger state Police Command Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Bala Elkana, confirmed the report, saying that 21 people have been confirmed dead during the violence.
Elkana said, “It is confirmed that the attack was a reprisal to an earlier killing of a herder by the villagers.
“The killing of a herder was managed, but it appears they were not satisfied and decided to retaliate.

“Twenty one people were killed, while eight people sustained various degrees of injuries during the attack.”

Wenger warns Chelsea over Premier League title triumph

Wenger warns Chelsea over Premier League title triumph

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has warned Chelsea that it will be tougher for them next season, after they emerged Premier League champions last Friday.
Wenger praised his London rivals, but believes that retaining the trophy will be more difficult, as they will juggle between the domestic scene and Champions League.
“Chelsea have done well, but in the last two seasons the team that won the league [it was Leicester the year before] hasn’t played in Europe,” he said.
“I congratulate Chelsea on what they’ve done, but when they play in Europe it’ll be a different story.
“I think we struggled a lot after what happened against Bayern [losing 5-1 in both legs of a Champions League last-16 tie] — a big blow, but it was still possible at the moment we played Bayern to come back at Chelsea.
“I think Chelsea has been extremely good and have won the championship this season but I think they won it two seasons ago too, and it just shows you they have exceptional quality.”

Police arrest teacher allegedly caught having sex with 15-year-old boy in the back seat of her car

Police arrest teacher allegedly caught having sex with 15-year-old boy in the back seat of her car

A Broward County middle school teacher is behind bars after she was arrested for allegedly having sex with a student.
Authorities took 33-year-old Pamela Stigger into custody Thursday in Tamarac, charging her with two counts of sexual assault on a minor between the ages of 12 and 18 along with one count of lewd and lascivious activity on a minor.
According to the arrest report from the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Stigger was found just after 2 a.m. in her car with the 15-year-old boy near Northwest 70th Avenue and 58th Street.
The report said Stigger and the teen had sex in the back seat shortly before they were spotted by a deputy.
Stigger denied having sexual contact with the teen and blamed him, saying he was “attempting to seduce her” when deputies approached the car, the report said.
“The defendant said she was only trying to mentor him while they were both occupying the back seat of her vehicle,” the report said.
BSO officials say the teen was a former student of Stigger when he attended Forest Glen Middle School in Coral Springs. The arrest report said she was the teen’s 8th grade drama teacher and had some sort of custodial relationship with the teen.
At this point, investigators do not believe there are other victims.
At Stigger’s court appearance Friday, bail was set at $37,500 for all three charges. Stigger is also ordered to wear an ankle monitor and not to have any contact with the victim.
Broward County Schools issued a statement saying they are investigating the incident and that Stigger, who has been with the district since 2008, has been reassigned away from the school and will not be allowed near students during the trial.
“This situation is being taken extremely seriously, and the District will continue to cooperate with the investigation,” the district said.

Pastor eaten by crocodiles while trying to walk on water like Jesus

A pastor who tried replicating the Biblical story of Jesus Christ walking on water has been eaten by crocodiles.
The pastor, identified as Jonathan Mthethwa, of the Saint of the Last Days Church, tried the demonstration at a river known as Crocodile River.
Mthethwa, from a local church in White River Mpumalanga died Saturday morning trying to demonstrate the biblical miracle to his congregants.
According to The Herald Zimbabwe, he drowned into the Crocodile River and was seen by his church members getting eaten by 3 crocodiles.
Deacon Nkosi, a member of the church, told the newspaper, “The pastor taught us about faith on Sunday last week.
He promised he would demonstrate his faith to us today, but he unfortunately ended up drowning and getting eaten by 3 large crocodiles in front of us.
“We still don’t understand how this happened because he fasted and prayed the whole week.”
Pastor Mthethwa was said to have walked into the water and when he was 30 meters inside the river, attempted to ascend above the water so he can start walking, but the 3 crocodile appeared from nowhere and started feasting on him.
Deacon Nkosi added, “They finished him in a couple of minutes.
“All that was left of him when they finished eating him is a pair of sandals and his underwear floating above the water.”
The country’s emergency agency, ER24 responded to the scene 30 minutes after, but upon arrival, there was not much they could do as the pastor was already dead.

Singer Davido’s third baby-mama resurfaces, challenges him for DNA test

Singer Davido’s third baby-mama resurfaces, challenges him for DNA test

Nigerian singer and son of a billionaire father, David Adeleke simply called ‘Davido’ should be bracing up for a third child from another woman.
The “IF” crooner has been linked with a third ‘baby-mama’.
Davido welcomed his second daughter, Hailey, in America few days ago from his second baby-mama, Amanda.
However, a particular lady, Ayomide Labinjo, who had accused the singer of impregnating her about three years ago and abandoning his responsibility as a father has surfaced.

Even though the singer has publicly denied the child, Labinjo had since dared him to come out for another DNA test but the singer has refused.
In a chat with Punch, the lady wondered why Davido would take care of his other two children and be a father to them but refused to do the same to their alleged child, Mitchell, whom she claims to be his first child.
“Our lawyer has sent a letter to Davido’s father since April 20, 2017, we have not got any response till now. I am not happy about this whole situation.
“Why would I be happy for Davido? He should be taking care of Mitchell the same way he is taking care of Imade and I know how he is going to take good care of this one. What is my own offence?” she queried.
When asked if she does not feel that the way he treats them could be a possible sign that the kid probably does not belong to the singer, she challenged him to have another DNA test.
“What do you mean please? Then why isn’t he coming out for the DNA since he is denying the little girl? Why has his father refused to get back to the lawyer?
“David is the father of my daughter, at least I was not raped. I know who impregnated me! Besides, if he doesn’t want to go for the DNA, he has siblings.
“Let them come out or probably go the traditional way to know if she is their daughter or not.
“I don’t know and I don’t care about any ‘Americana;’ all I want is for him to take care of Mitchell. She’s also his daughter and first child for that matter,” she said

[PHOTO] 40-Year-Old Security Guard Steals N24.4m, Threatens Boss With Whistle-Blowing

A 40-year-old security guard, Alfred Andrew, has been apprehended for stealing from his boss, a businessman, Benedict Emmanuel.

His boss who is a businessman lives at the Gwarimpa housing estate in Abuja, was away from the house when his security guard, Andrew, started the gradual process of stealing his money.
Andrew who hails from Bauchi state, is a Mass Communication and Information Technology graduate who enrolled in a theology school after staying jobless for years, and eventually became a pastor.
Alfred Andrew threatened his boss with whistleblowing after stealing from him Andrew moved to Abuja from Plateau state in 2014, where he was hired by Emmanuel and was earning N25,000 monthly as a security guard.
Narrating how he started stealing from his boss, Andrew said: “That day, I was sweeping when I saw a key on the floor. I tried it on the padlock on my boss’ apartment and it opened. I went inside the house and was searching through his belongings when something fell on me from the top of his wardrobe. I then realised it was foreign currency. I climbed on a chair to see what was on the top of the wardrobe and noticed that there were currencies from different countries. They were so much. That was the first time I would see so much dollars. I have only seen such large amount in movies. I was tempted to take the money. Before, I had been hearing of whistleblowers but I was not sure who to contact. I didn’t know who to report to. I didn’t have the number of the whistleblowers.
I was scared. I didn’t know who to trust in Nigeria. I might tell someone and the person may turn things around against me.”
He resorted to taking money from the room whenever his boss left the house. He also decided to count the amount of money his oga had in the wardrobe.
He said: “I confirmed from someone the amount in the bundles. He said it was N130m after it was converted. I didn’t touch that one because it was sealed. I was only taking from those bundles.” He continued stealing the cash for over a month, and his boss kept bringing home more money, and so didn’t notice that he had taken some out of it. He kept checking to see if the money had increased or decreased. “If you just pulled a small amount, by the time you count it, there might be more than thirty dollar notes.” After a while, Andrew decided to go big, he stole a large sum and deposited same into his bank account. He said: “I took some amount and converted it to N24.4m and put it in my account.”
Andrew was eventually caught when Benedict discovered that part of his money was missing. He began to suspect Andrew after discovering that he was using an iPhone7 and wearing expensive clothes, even though he was supposed to be earning just N25,000.
He ordered for Andrew’s room to be searched, and after finding designer clothes in there, ordered his arrest through the Inspector-General of Police’s Intelligence Response Team.
Andrew confessed to stealing the money and owning N24million in his account, and also revealed he had rented an apartment in town and spent lavishly on his girlfriend.
He said, “I bought clothes and mobile phones. I was not even able to wear any of the clothes because I bought them recently. Part of the money I had recently changed to naira was in my bag when I was searched. Last Friday when my boss discovered the cash missing, he ordered that nobody should go out of the compound and started searching everybody.
His sister who is an official with the Department of State Services came also and checked my phone and bags. They took my passport, ATM cards and everything I had before handing me over to SARS. I told my oga I would implicate him by reporting him to EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission). He said he had been good to me, but I told him his wife had not given me food over the last three years. It is part of the reasons why I did what I did. Even when I was employed, I was told my salary would be increased every four months. I was told I would also be fed but that promise was not kept. My boss said the money was not his.”

Bayelsa Primary School Teachers Strike Indefinitely Over 9 Months Unpaid Salary

Bayelsa Primary School Teachers Strike Indefinitely Over 9 Months Unpaid Salary
Teachers in Bayelsa public primary schools have embarked on indefinite strike to press for the payment of the nine-and-a-half months’ salary owed by local governments in the state.
This was after they rejected the one month salary offered to them by the state government to avert the action.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the teachers had commenced an indefinite strike on Monday after a three-day warning strike.
The state wing of the Nigeria union of Teachers, NUT, said in a statement on Tuesday that it has directed the teachers to commence the action.
The Chairman of NUT, Kalama Toinpre, who signed the statement, said the action was meant to press for payment of outstanding salaries owed the teachers.
Toinpre, therefore, directed all primary school teachers to stay away from classrooms with effect from Monday
The chairman insisted that they should stay at home until government pays them at least three months salaries to cushion the effects of “biting economic hardship’’ they were facing.
He said the teachers also demanded that the state government should take over the management and funding of the primary school system or “carry out its augmenting role to the local government councils’’.
He noted that augmenting primary school funding was being practiced in other states of the federation to sustain primary education.
The chairman also called on the state Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the Post Primary Schools Board to implement the recent promotion exercises, and commence fresh promotions for teachers who are due.
He also demanded that the deductions made from the primary school teachers for identity cards be stopped forthwith, while all monies so far deducted should be refunded to the teachers without delay.
Mr. Toinpre urged all teachers to embark on seven days of fasting and prayers, in the first week of the strike, to seek God’s intervention over the plight of primary school teachers in Bayelsa.
He said that after two weeks of the strike, if nothing was done, teachers in secondary schools would also embark on sympathy strike that would ground the education sub-sector.
It will be recalled that the warning strike called by the NUT over the unpaid salaries in primary schools ended on May 4.
The state Commissioner for Local Government Administration had on Friday announced the payment of April salary to persuade the teachers to shelve the planned strike which the teachers rejected.
Also in Bayelsa, Health workers at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Yenagoa, under the auspices of Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU, on Tuesday suspended their five-day strike.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that the workers embarked on the strike on May 4, over non-payment of March and April salary arrears, and backlog of salary shortfalls owed the workers.
The suspension of the strike followed a meeting between the workers’ representatives and the management of the hospital on Tuesday.
It was gathered that the March 2017 salary was paid on Monday while the strike was in force.
The parties agreed that the strike be suspended and workers return to their duty posts from May 10.
It was also agreed by both parties that the outstanding April of JOHESU 2017 salary be paid within 14 days, with effect from May 10, 2017.
According to the agreement, signed by Denis Alagoa, Medical Director, FMC, and Save Nubani, Acting Coordinator of the union, no member of staff would be victimised for taking part in the strike.

A fire incident which happened on Saturday evening at Makoko and Satellite Town areas of Lagos State, has left a seven-day-old baby dead, and copies of West African Senior School Certificate Examination results badly burnt.
It was gathered that the baby was burnt to death in Makoko, in the fire incident that occurred due to a resident’s carelessness, after she left what she was cooking on a stove unattended to.
A firefighter said;
“We gathered that a woman was cooking food; she left the place and forgot it.
“The fire started from there and razed a lot of makeshift structures to the ground.
“In the confusion that greeted the incident, the parents of the child left him inside the house. By the time they remembered that he was in the house and tried to rescue him, it was too late. The child had been burnt to death. He was supposed to be named today (Sunday).
“Four fire trucks from the Lagos State Fire Service responded to a distress call from the area and put out the fire in the early hours of Sunday.”
Punch Metro also reported that the second fire incident, was caused by an electric spark from a cable triggered the fire, which damaged 32 flats. This occurred in a building that used to be known as Stepping Stone Comprehensive Girls College.

“Also, 11 gas cylinders were burnt, with seven air conditioners. About 20 families were affected. It was the state fire service that initially responded before the Federal Fire Service was also called. The fire was put out around 12.25am on Sunday” he said.

Bomb attack aftermath sparked tension with Tuchel – Dortmund CEO

Bomb attack aftermath sparked tension with Tuchel – Dortmund CEO

Borussia Dortmund’s CEO admits his relationship with coach Thomas Tuchel is strained over the decision to play their Champions League quarter-final a day after a bomb attack on their team bus.
The squad was left shaken and defender Marc Barta needed a wrist operation after three bomb blasts hit the Dortmund bus on the way to their first leg at home to Monaco on April 11.
UEFA, in agreement with the two clubs, postponed the game to the day after and Dortmund lost 3-2, eventually bowing out 6-3 on aggregate.
After the defeat Tuchel complained that he had not been involved in the decision “at all” while many players said they had not wanted to play barely 24 hours after the attack.
Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke told Funke Media Group on Saturday that nobody in the Dortmund squad had made it clear that they did not want to play.
Asked if there was a clear difference in his and Tuchel’s version of events, Watzke said: “Yes, there is. It was too serious a matter for us to make a decision above the heads of everyone.
“It wasn’t for nothing in the discussions on Wednesday morning (the day of the rescheduled game) that I made it clear that every player who didn’t feel in a position to play had until the afternoon to say so.
“The coach obviously also had the right to point that out, but I was never confronted with such a scenario.”
Watzke said he was irritated when some players later complained that they had been made to play.
Defender Sokratis said he had been made to feel “like an animal, not a human being”.
“I would take with a pinch of salt the words of players who were in the middle of such a pressure situation and who were physically and mentally completely exhausted after the game,” said Watzke.
Asked about Watzke’s latest comments Tuchel, who has one year left on his contract, declined to comment before Saturday’s home match against Hoffenheim in a key battle for an automatic Champions League place.
“I do not want to go into that or think about it at this point. We can’t allow ourselves to be distracted in this phase of the season,” Tuchel told Sky.
“It’s just about reaching our sporting goals. Something like this shouldn’t be a subject and that goes for the next game too.”

We’ll shutdown Nigeria if Buhari fails to conduct a media chat in 14 days – Group

We’ll shutdown Nigeria if Buhari fails to conduct a media chat in 14 days – Group

A pro-democracy and good governance group, Concerned Nigerians, has threatened to shut down the country in peaceful protest if President Muhammadu Buhari fails to conduct a media chat in two weeks to let Nigerians know the true state of his health.
In a statement signed and made available to newsmen by both its Convener, Prince Deji Adeyanju and the Secretary, Dr. John Danfulani, it said the secret handling of President Buhari’s health by those it called a cabal has placed the country in uncertain state economically.
The group also threatened to call for Buhari’s resignation should he fail to address the nation.
“For several weeks, the health of President Muhammadu Buhari has been the source of speculation. He has not appeared in public for several weeks and has failed to attend several official functions including Federal Executive Cabinet meetings.
“The handling of the situation relating to President Buhari’s health has led to a lot of political uncertainty in the country. This economic uncertainty has in turn led to a lot of economic uncertainty as major economic stakeholders and players are unable to make short, middle and long term economic decisions.
“Furthermore, the uncertainty about President Buhari’s health is stoking ethnic and religious tensions. Only recently a user of the social networking site – Facebook – threatened to kill 200 innocent Nigerians if President Buhari dies. This threat may not be unconnected with rumours making rounds in the northern parts of the country that President Buhari was poisoned.
“To this end, we call on President Buhari to, as a matter of urgency, publicly address the nation on the state of his health and other national issues. Such an address will go a long way in assuaging the socio-economic and political tensions.
“If President Buhari fails or refuses to address the nation within 14 days of this statement, we will commence a series of nationwide peaceful processions calling on President Buhari to resign from office. The processions will also call on the Federal Executive Council and the National Assembly to set up a committee to assess his health in line with Section 144 of the Constitution if he fails or refuses to do so.
“While we recognise that illnesses can afflict anyone, particularly someone of President Buhari’s age, an occupant of the Office of the President has to be more forthcoming with information regarding his health. It is an obligation that the President bears to conduct himself in a manner that does not affect the peace, order and good governance of the country.
“In all this, we wish President Buhari a speedy recovery from the illnesses that plague him. However, we believe that he can no longer recover in a manner that plagues the entire country.”
