- Multishield Limited was incorporated in 1997 as a Health Maintenance Organization. It commenced operations in the same year with prepaid health plans to cater for the health needs of individuals and corporate organizations.
Multishield has a fully paid up share capital of four hundred million naira with AIICO Insurance PLC being the major shareholder. Multishield achieved pioneer status in 2005 when it became one of the first eight HMOs registered by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). The company is authorized to operate and provide comprehensive healthcare to Nigerians regardless of age, religion, gender, ethnic origin or ideology.
